Nothing better than a good Venn Diagram and this is one of the best I’ve ever seen.
It’s pretty self-explanatory, but I might do a video that goes into more depth.
The basic idea is that these are the 4 major considerations about your life & how they each overlap.
Most people tend to have one thing as their passion, then something else as their mission, and yet another thing that pulls them in the direction of a profession.
This is where you get the idea of “work / life” balance.
As if you could sustain having different parts of your life taking you in different directions.
Makes me think of the Medieval punishment of having your arms & legs tied to 4 horses who run away from you.
You don’t survive for long.
The Solution
The only way out of that situation is to find your center.
Figure out how to bring all four areas into alignment so they’re each moving in the same direction.
For me?
That’s being myself & sharing my story.
I get paid to be curious about the world, to understand psychology, and how that can help people be more successful.
When you recognize what your own genius is, you finally relax because you’re not fighting to keep tension between different parts of your life that you’ve siloed.
Now you can bring your whole self to everything you do & anywhere you go.
It’s not easy, but it is worth it.
So, do you know what your “zone of genius” is and have you made it work for you?
I’d love to know what you think.
Best thoughts,
~Jonathan
PS: Next week I’m speaking at a conference & then doing a college show, so you’ll get updates from the road. Adventures await!
