How does a magician negotiate the experience of doing magic?
They have to know what they’re going to do, first off. “What’s the root idea of this demonstration?”
Then they have to understand the perspective of the audience. “Where are they sitting and what can they see from that angle?”
Then they have to have the skills to make adjustments that result in a successful outcome. “Ta daaaaa!”
Same thing goes for negotiations.
If you want to be successful, then you have to listen, anticipate, and deliver on what you promise.
Once you can do that, people will say it works like “magic” but you’ll know it’s the result of hard work and planning.
