Repellant Marketing

Think about how many people there are on the planet.

8 Billion, with a B, billion.

How many of those people could you work with in a single year?

Think about how long it takes to get them what they need then use that number to divide the number of hours you have available in a year.

That number is the total amount of people you could help.

Now, what percentage of the human population is that?

Tiiiiiiiiny.

And then add the second filter.

How many of the people you could help are the people who want & need that help?

That’s an even smaller fraction.

Here’s how the numbers play out.

For every one person / client that’s a great fit, there are MILLIONS (with an M) that are an actively bad fit.

So let me ask you.

Do you think it’s more important to attract the right client? Or repel the wrong clients?

(I know which job will happen a million times more often than the other.)

Flip your thinking upside down & inside out.

Ask yourself what your marketing would look like if it pushed away the wrong people.

Would anything need to change?

Maybe you should change it.

Best thoughts,
